Ecuadorian floriculture contributes positively to the national economy, generating USD 287.5 million in the first quarter of 2024, however, it faces considerable challenges, such as the infestation of the Frankliniella occidentalis pest, which compromises the quality and commercialization of flowers. In order to evaluate different entomopathogenic fungi such as B. bassiana (T1), M. anisopliae (T2), B. bassiana + M. anisopliae (T3) and L. lecanii (T4) as biological control strategies of F. occidentalis in rose cultivation, a randomized trial was carried out in complete blocks with 4 treatments and 15 blocks. The resulting information was analyzed with Friedman and LSD Fisher statistics (a= 0.05) using InfoStat software. The variables evaluated include thrips population dynamics, incidence of thrips in flower bud and economic analysis. The results indicated that after application, the incidence of the pest decreased progressively, with B. bassiana and L. lecanii being the most effective (<6%). Treatments with entomopathogenic fungi, especially B. bassiana, improved productivity and demonstrated a cost-benefit of 1.3 USD. This research shows that biological treatments with B. bassiana, M. anisopliae and especially L. lecanii are effective in controlling F. occidentalis.
